Scandinavian spruce

Scandinavian spruce is grown specifically as a feedstock for the production of decorative batten, which is widely used for the upholstery of accommodation, saunas, gazebos, loggias, etc.

Unlike traditional firs and pines, which grow abundantly in the middle zone of the Eurasian continent, Scandinavian spruce is grown until 63 south latitude, ie in a stable cold climate. These spruce grow more slowly, increasing the density and uniformity of the wood, and improves the appearance of the cut.

Regardless of price batten of North European spruce, this material is weak demand in the domestic markets. Because a board or batten of the usual pine, which are used to dealing our countrymen, not really suitable for the facing of premises: it is clearly distinguished large knots, which often fall out, and when heated on the wood surface drops exude resin (patina), with high content of substances harmful to human health.

Panels of Scandinavian spruce denied all these shortcomings. They treated and dried with hot air by a special technology that not yet available in Russia or Ukraine.

Finnish spruce batten upholstery sweating-rooms has a light yellow color with a splash of small twigs, which are not perceived by the Finns as a defect of wood, but as part of the decor.

The main advantages batten of Scandinavian spruce are their low cost (due to mass production) and durability, which is due to relatively high resin (compared to hardwoods) to protect the wood from rotting.
