Bergamot – is small tree of the family Rutaceae. Bergamot essential oil is extracted from the rind of the fruit, and for the production of 1 kg of oil is necessary to 200 pounds of fresh raw material (skin).

Birthplace of bergamot are the southern part of Asia, and it is cultivated on an industrial scale is practically only one place in the world - in the Italian province of Calabria, where the specific composition of the soil allows you to get high-quality fruit.

Bergamot oil is widely used in the perfume industry because of its compatibility with most exceptional fragrances. Today aroma of bergamot is present in almost half of all perfumes, colognes and toilet waters that are on the market.

Given that bergamot is a cross between a lemon and an orange mountain, its medicinal properties are largely determined by the properties of these citrus fruits. Bergamot fruits have excellent antibacterial and antiviral properties, have antipyretic and expectorant action on the human body. Accordingly, the essential oil of bergamot is successfully used in the treatment of acute respiratory infections, sore throats and other diseases of broncho-pulmonary system.

Bergamot oil acts aid in the normalization of the gastrointestinal tract, treatment of infections of the genitourinary system and the fight against parasitic infections (helminths). Also normalizes the sebaceous glands and prevents acne skin.
